We were itching to use the motorhome. We finally got it to a place where we could use it so we decided to do a quick trip up to Eden and camp. We were close enough in case something was wrong but we could still enjoy the summer weather. We went to Anderson Cove in Eden. While using it, we came up with some other things we would love to do to it (our to-do list keeps getting longer instead of shorter). Everything worked great and we really enjoyed the feel of the motorhome. Below is a picture of Pineview Dam. Below is the entertainment center that Gil made from scratch. I didn't have to miss the final show of the Bachelorette :-) The cord hanging from the TV is the TV plugged into a DC charger (I have no idea...I think that is what it is) so we can watch TV without power and without starting the generator. It was sweet! That was one of the ideas that we came up with while there so we (that would be Gil) is going to wire it so it is automatically like that and we won't have the cord hanging. The desk that I finished will be secured under the TV when we install it. The electrical outlets are hanging because they are going to be mounted on my desk once it is installed. Notice my beautiful cabinets. I'm really proud of how they turned out. You can see the shelf above the door that hasn't been painted yet. That is what it use to look like. It was a nice short trip. The dogs did really well and they loved the hiking that we did. The picture of Gil grilling just makes me laugh. We were so excited to get up in the mountains that we finished our projects, cleaned everything up and hit the road. Gil looked at me and asked what I brought for dinner and I just looked at him stupid. I thought he packed the food for dinner. Nope...had a fun RV to camp in but no food. Luckily there was a grocery store close by.

Well we are making our way through the motorhome and the bathroom is now done! The first picture is before and the other two are after.
We replaced the sink with an EXPENSIVE one from a local plumbing company. I could not find a sink that would fit this small bathroom that wasn't plastic. I hated our plastic sink and wanted something more like I would have at home so I bit the bullet and got this sink. I love how we put the facuet in the corner and my husband did a great tile job on the countertop. The counter curved and it limited the space we could use in the bathroom so Gil made it come straight across. I painted the wood in the bathroom so it matched the rest of the RV and we replaced the toilet with one that had a "step" flush rather than behind the toilet. The small things we appreciate. Well we just got back from a fantastic vacation to Brasil for Garrett's graduation trip. So the motorhome was, once again, put on hold until we got back. We are at it again and making a lot of progress. In fact, we are going to take it for a test run tomorrow and go camping for a couple of days close to home. We still have things to do but it is at a place where we can use it now.
The desk was an interesting job. I really like the desk but after stepping back and looking at it, I'm not sure I would do it exactly the same if I did it again. I think I probably should have left the middle drawer white...BUT it is done and sealed so there is no going back now. I think it turned out pretty good. I always forget to do a "before" picture so this is "almost" before and "after". |
